Hello, my name is Heather Bee. I live in Northwest Florida with my boyfriend, two wily teenagers, and my cats, Stormageddon and Amelia.

I have a Master’s Degree in psychology and currently work as a outpatient substance abuse counselor. Prior to life as a counselor, I spent six years teaching high schoolers about music and computers. As for hobbies (outside of reading), I’ve played handbells and roller derby, and I sometimes prefer to knit gifts rather than buy them.

I’ve always been an avid reader and bibliophile. Thanks to the urging of my dear friends, April (The Steadfast Reader) and Monika (Lovely Bookshelf), I, too, have joined their ranks to share my thoughts about the books I read. I enjoy reading a wide variety of books, but I tend to be a sucker for Sci-Fi or Fantasy serials. Be forewarned that I’m not opposed to reviewing movies and TV shows from time to time, and I will try to tamp down my propensity for fangirling over Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Firefly, and so on.

While I’m not opposed to an old-fashioned book, I read primarily on a Kindle Voyage. Try as I might, I still have difficulty reading on computer screens and other backlit devices. I pray to the old gods and the new that the Kindle never goes out of style.
